Sightseeing in Jaisalmer is bound to touch the heart of any person who is moved by the surrounding bounties of nature. There is the vast and unending stretch of the Thar Desert which both enthralls and amazes the travellers. Then there are temples to visit for the devout of various religions such as the Jain temple and the Laxmi Nath Temple. There is the Jaisalmer fort which was at one time the center of power in this part of the world. The ancient havelis such as the Patwon Ki Haveli draws numerous sightseers and so does the other structures of yore.
There is simply no doubt in anybody’s mind that one of the major tourist attractions in Jaisalmer is the desert. People come here specifically to see it with their own eyes. There is the Desert National Park which lets the visitors have a glimpse into the inhospitable terrain from quite close quarters. There is a safari which takes them into the heart of the desert country.  Spot the Great Indian Bustard in their own territory; it is a rare bird to find. Then there are the Chinkaras which roam here freely. Lizards, foxes, wolves, cats, hares, gerbils, hedgehogs and blackbucks are some other fauna found here.
